Electricity
Electricity is supplied at 220V- 50/60 Hz.
Currency
In shops and restaurants you pay with Egyptian pounds (LE). Egyptian pound is divided into 100 piaster. There are banknote of LE 200, 100, 50. 20, 10, 5 and 1. Smaller denominations are LE 0.50 and 0.25 in banknote or coins.
The appropriate current exchange rate for LE is five for one dollar and seven for one Euro with limited changes up or down.
Time
The Egyptian standard time is GMT+ 2 hours
Insurance
The organizing committee will not accept any liability for personal injuries, loss or damage of property. The participants are requested to arrange their own insurance for health, travel and property.
Banking
Banks are open Sunday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm and are closed on Friday and Saturday.
Climate
The average maximum temperature of Sharm El Sheikh during meeting period is 335C the minimum is 25 5C, probability of rainfall during September in Sharm El Sheikh is nearly nil .
Official language
The official language of Egypt is Arabic, with English and French. The former is widely spoken. The official working language of the congress is English.
Passport and Visa
Most Nationalities are granted Visa upon arrival to Sharm El Sheikh international airport. Few Nationalities need to apply for Visa before arriving to Egypt. A transit visa is sufficient for a stay of less than 7 days.
For up-to- date information, it is essential that inquiries be made prior to travel from the nearest Egyptian consulates. Passports should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Egypt.
Dress code
During the congress period, light garments are advised.
